2.9 V6 EFI Jago Sandero
|

As
you can see this Geep has had to work hard for it’s living. It
started life in 1992 as a pink 1300 pushrod vehicle with a 4 speed gearbox. In
about 1996 I made some major changes and installed a
2.9 EFI V6, 5 speed type 5 gearbox and 5 linked the back end to hold all the
torque in check. I did try the 2.9 driving through the standard rear suspension
set-up for a few months but it was useless. The front end is pretty much standard
Jago except for 187lb springs, vented disks with 4-pot calipers, Goodridge type
hoses and rock hard rally bushes. |

Front vented disks with 4-pot callipers
and 187lb springs to hold up the iron lump. |
|||
This is the 5-link rear end. 4 radius arms
and a panhard rod for lateral location. |
|||
Drop bracket looks low but is still
higher than the wheel rim, I’ve never bashed it. |
|||
The Granada seats came from the same car as
the engine, very big and comfy. |
|||
This is what happens if the panhard rod mounting
breaks, the body moves Laterally on the axle until either the
left or right wheel act as an end stop. |

The chassis and 4WD engine for this Geep
