My much loved 1987 Jago Geep
|

This was the first one I built. The
“All new 1987 Jago Geep”. Having ordered it I spent months
preparing engine, gearbox, suspension, seats, steering etc. The whole lot was ready to bolt on the day
the kit arrived and I had a rolling chassis in no time at all. I told Steve Smith at Jago that I would
put a 5-speed gearbox in it and he told me the chassis, body and prop shaft would need modifying and
if I did so it would invalidate the warranty! It seemed to me that Ford never did that when they threw
the box into a Capri and it just dropped in as you might expect. |

It struggled a bit on a 1600 Pinto
pulling all that kit, I equate it to the NASA 747 below. |

Donor Escort cost £30 and provided
the bare minimum. New seats, a 1600OHC from a crashed Ford P100 pickup and a
5 speed box from a crashed 2000 Capri made it all fairly new underneath. As
soon as it passed its first MOT I had a stainless exhaust made and never once
had to touch it. I’m looking for some construction
photos to add …………. |
